Forget the iPhone: Tech experts T3 crown HTC One as the mobile of the year.



The HTC One trumped Apple's iPhone for the second year running at tech magazine T3's annual awards.







Winner: HTC v iPhone 6

Forget the iPhone 6, the best phone you can get your hands on his year is the HTC One, according to top tech experts.
And it is the second year running HTC has scooped the Phone of the Year award at the technology bible T3 awards tonight.
T3 editor Tom Dennis said: “This year’s awards have been as prestigious and as popular as ever, combining expert industry judges and T3’s tech-savvy readers in deciding the greats of the technology world.”










The glittering ceremony saw billionaire British inventor Sir James Dyson crowned Tech Legend by a leading gadget magazine.
The creator of the world’s first bagless vacuum, bladeless fan and now a revolutionary robot vacuum that puts itself away.
Hosted by technology bible T3, Sir James was awarded the gong for “outstanding services to consumer technology” but confessed  “the best ideas are not all mine”.
























Winner: James Dyson
 
Paying tribute to his team of boffins he added: “It is Dyson’s 2,000 sparky engineers and scientists who should take the credit. Working with them and some of the best universities in the world, we are developing new technologies which make things work better.”
The 67-year-old entreprneur who will see his most recent invention the Dyson 360 Eye robot vacuum hit stores next year, shows no signs of slowing down with applications for 4,000 patents on 500 gadgets in the pipeline.
There was also a gong for TV’s IT Crowd star and Gadget Man presenter Richard Ayoade who won Tech Personality of the Year.
Sony’s PlayStation 4 swept the board scooping three top awards - Gadget of the Year, Gaming and entering the T3 Hall of Fame.
Apple may have missed out on the smartphone honours but saw it MacBook Pro with Retina Display win Laptop/Tablet of the Year.
